Travel Made Easy began as a miracle. Mrs. Brenda L. Wyatt had previously been
employed by a management company in San Jose, CA, where she was the operations
manager. She enjoyed most aspects of her employment and was well liked by all of
her coworkers. It didn't hurt that she was paid quite well either.
Although, she was well
respected and generously compensated for her work, she found herself longing to
be at home with her two young children.
She had prayed openly that by the time her eldest son was ready to start
kindergarten, she would be self-employed at home. This lady who once considered
becoming a Vice President, would now be happy being a housewife and mother. Her
husband encouraged her and made it known he would be pleased with any decision
she made.
After a year of praying
and only 4 months before her eldest son was to start kindergarten, she
considered giving up her dream of staying home. She and her husband could not
financial handle it, with two kids, two cars and a mortgage. However, God is
almighty and shows it best in impossible situations.
One afternoon while
walking through the parking garage of her company, she became dizzy and
practically passed out. Luckily for her, her boss was near by and suggested that
she go to the hospital. The doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her and
sent her back to work the next day. Two weeks later the same thing happened, but
this time she passed out. She was rushed to the hospital and was found to have
an extremely rare airway dysfunction, pulmonary and respiratory disease. She was
devastated.
After several weeks of
treatment, the doctors explained that she would probably not be able to ever
return to work. For the first time she began to cry. When the doctors left her
alone in the room, as she was dressing, she heard that small still voice of the
Lord telling her that everything was going to be alright, for he was merely
working a miracle.
Mrs. Wyatt was placed on
Worker's Compensation and ended up with the best vocational rehabilitation
officer in the world. After making an appointment to meet with her vocational
rehabilitation officer, Mrs. Wyatt did some research. At the church she attended
she was always assisting in the booking of trips for various organizations. She
decided this is something she enjoyed and if she could do this from home, how
great that would be. She found out everything she needed to know about the
travel business, all the discounts and ways to really make traveling easy. Thus
the name, Travel Made Easy.
She had seen so
many times where different people on the same plane were paying several
different prices and how everyone BUT, the client was happy. She then vowed to
the Lord that if he blessed her business, she would always try to find the best
deals and give everyone the best service and make it as easy as possible.
To her surprise the
Vocational Rehabilitation Officer agreed with her and agreed to help her start
the business. Without a penny out of pocket she was able to start Travel Made
Easy. She already had the support of her pastor and the church, but she knew,
in-order to make a real living she would need a lot of clients .
Her faith in God was put
to the test immediately, one of her first clients was her previous child care
provider. They're father had died and 13 people needed to get out immediately.
They had tried all the airlines and the lowest fare they were quoted was $683.00
round-trip. This, they could not afford! Mrs. Wyatt put everything else aside
and not making one dime of commission, she found them a fare of $237.00 per
person round-trip. All 13 family members were able to attend the funeral. People
called her foolish, because some were willing to pay the $683.00 (totally
commissionable rate), but Mrs. Wyatt remembered her vow to God.
Immediately after this
incident her business started to flourish, without doing any advertising. The
family of 13 told two friends, and so on, and so on. The rest is history. In one
year Travel Made Easy went from a total of 15 clients and her own church, to
over 1500 clients, several churches, and many other business accounts.
The word is out, with this
travel organization all you need to know is where and when you want to go and
they do the rest, because the name says it all, its: "Travel Made Easy".
